Gasp One

In 1991 I was introduced to the world of graffiti art, which has shaped my views and ideas about art, advertising, and society. Emerging in the 90s then by 2000 I had become an established figure in the New Zealand graffiti art scene, which gave me many opportunities to develop my practice further. Since, I have travelled the country and over seas taking part in hip hop and graffiti events including live painting at the 2001 and 2002 Hip Hop Summit in and around the Aotea Centre, and the “Respect” exhibition, a show that presented the stories of people within the Hip Hop culture in Aotearoa, at the New Dowse in Lower Hutt where my work was purchased by the gallery.
