Launched in 2006 Thatch Ltd is run by Andrew Johnston. A registered architect, Andrew spent seven years in the construction industry before making the switch to product design.
Before returning to New Zealand to attend The University of Auckland’s School of Architecture Andrew spent his time scattered through the Pacific. A childhood in Singapore and Rarotonga were followed by an adolescence in New Caledonia and Fiji…..his accent still hasn’t recovered. Memories of the pacific often act as inspiration for the designs he creates. This is evident in the ‘lightness’ of all of his work.
