Bio/Company History:
Zoe Ikin graduated from AUT University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Design, and now works as a graphic designer for Studio Alexander in Auckland. Her interests spread beyond graphic, to product design, and so alongside study and work, Zoe has been making contemporary jewellery since 2003. She works solely in silver, from her home-based workshop in Ponsonby. Her meticulous hand, and interest in typography combine in this range of Helvetica brooches, turning an everyday design icon into a precious object you can own.
What drives you?
Having lots of exciting projects on the go.
What inspires you?
Beautiful objects, clever design/designers, my family.
What are you doing when you don’t do this?
Working as a graphic designer, chilling out at the bach with friends or enjoying a good coffee.
Black or White?
White – I’m a graphic designer! – nothing beats some nice white space on a page.
Meat or Vege?
Vege.
If you could spend a day with anyone, who would it be and why?
Hmm maybe Alan Fletcher? The retrospective exhibition of his work at London’s Design Museum was the most inspiring I’ve ever been to.

Single, no kids, and I did have two gorgeous cats until I left home!
