The Story
Salt is a photographic gift book that comes from inside the unique New Zealand summer holiday experience, where families return to the same bach, year after year, when work shuts down for a month and school is out. Chris Williams photographed for over five years at Little Bay, New Zealand during the summer holidays. Images of sandy feet on a bach particle-board floor, hungry seagulls in a rainy sky, the milky greenness of opening your eyes under water take you inside the unforgettable experience of sun soaked summers at the beach.
The innovative design of the book, with overglossed cardboard pages, creates an interesting object that handles with ease and familiarity, a little block of pictures, an original, unusual design with striking photography.
