Keeping it real.....and green
We are always thinking of ways to operate sustainably. Here are some of the things we do that make sure we are walking the talk.
• All full-time staff live within 2km's of work.
• We have a low-tech paper re-use/recycling system made from old cardboard.
• For packing slips we use a paper made from 100% recycled waste paper. We don't waste ink by printing "100% recycled" on it either. For generic printing we use white officemax paper that is certified by the forest stewardship council.
• We do not watse power, our average bill is $65 a month.
• Our elctricity comes from Meridian Energy, they generate electricity from renewable sources ( wind and hydro ).They are CarboNZero.
• All orders are packaged with paper, not bubblewrap.
• We are members of The Sustainable Business Network- a forum for businesses that are interested in sustainable development practice.They promote sustainable practice in New Zealand and support businesses on the path to becoming sustainable. As a member we have a bucket load of resources that help us reach our sustainability goals.
